Machinable hardness is HRC58 ~ 62. For thread processing of high-temperature alloy materials, thread milling cutters also show excellent processing performance and long life beyond expectations. For the same pitch, different diameter of the threaded hole, the use of tap processing requires more than a tool to complete, but such as the use of thread milling cutter processing, the use of a tool can be. Taps in the process of wear, processing thread size is less than the tolerance can not continue to use, can only be scrapped; and when the thread milling cutter wear, processing thread hole size is less than the tolerance, through the numerical control system for the necessary tool radius compensation adjustment, you can continue to process the size of qualified threads. Similarly, in order to obtain a high-precision threaded hole, it is much easier to use a thread milling cutter to adjust the tool radius than to produce a high-precision tap. For small-diameter thread processing, especially in thread processing of high-hardness materials and high-temperature materials, taps sometimes break, block threaded holes, and even scrap parts; using thread milling cutters, because the diameter of the cutter is smaller than the processed hole, even if it is broken It will not block the threaded hole, it is very easy to take out, and it will not cause the part to be scrapped; using thread milling, compared with taps, the cutting force of the tool is greatly reduced, this is particularly important for large diameter thread processing, and solves the problem that the machine tool load is too large to drive the tap for normal processing.

The traditional thread processing method is mainly to use the turning tool to cut the thread or the tap, the die tapping and the set buckle. With the development of CNC machining technology, especially the emergence of three-axis linkage CNC machining system, the more advanced thread processing method-thread CNC milling can be realized. Compared with the traditional thread processing method, thread milling has great advantages in processing accuracy and processing efficiency, and is not limited by thread structure and thread rotation. For example, a thread milling cutter can process various internal and external threads with different rotation. For threads that are not allowed to have transition buckles or retrane structures, it is difficult to use traditional turning methods or taps and die, but it is very easy to use CNC milling. In addition, the durability of the thread milling cutter is more than ten times or even dozens of times that of the tap, and in the process of CNC milling the thread, the adjustment of the thread diameter is convenient, which is difficult to do with the tap and the die.
